Accelerate
The accelerator is constructed of 6, half-day sessions. Each session consists of lectures, independent work, presentations and critiques:

Part 1: CONCEPTUALIZING SIMULATION RESEARCH
By the end of this half day, the participants will be able to generate a research question, describe the importance of using theory in the design of the research project, ensure balance between practice driven question (local impact) and theory driven question (global impact), and identify a lens that will inform the research question and design.

Part 2: METHODS OF SIMULATION RESEARCH
By the end of this half day, the participants should be able to link the research question to appropriate research paradigm (e.g., qualitative vs. quantitative), and identify the research design.

Part 3: DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSES
By the end of this session, the participants should be able to describe the data collection process of their individual research study, and generate and describe the data analysis plan for their individual research study.

Part 4: OUTCOMES, EVALUATION, ASSESSMENTS
By the end of this session, the participants should be able to identify relevant outcomes measures, and distinguish between program evaluation and individual assessments.

Part 5: DISSEMINATION & LOGISTICS
By the end of this session, the participants should be able to describe strategies to increase the likelihood of acceptance of abstracts and manuscripts for dissemination.

Part 6: WRITING A FUNDING PROPOSAL
By the end of this part, the participants should be able to select an appropriate funding agency and generate an outline of a "generic" research proposal.
